Initial Architecture
Another tourism attraction in Shiraz city of Iran is tomb of a poem which used to live in 8th century AH. The initial design of tomb of Hafez Shirazi dates back to 856 AH which means 65 after his death. At the behest of minister Mirza Abolghasem Gourkani, governor of Fars a dome-shaped monument was built above the tomb with a pool in front of that tomb. The area is 20000 m2 and consists of northern and southern yard.
Changes
- Tomb of Hafez Shirazi was rebuilt at the age of Abbass the Great.
- At the age of Nader Shah Afshar was rebuilt again.
- In Zand dynasty, they changed the architecture of this place and built a monument on their own custom and put a marble stone on the tomb.
- After Karim Khan-e-Zand in 1235 SH Moa ‘Ayed-o-Doleh governor of Fars at that age rebuilt there.
- In 1257 Mirza Motamed-o-Doleh who was next governor of Fars Built a small wooden summerhouse on tomb of Hafez Shirazi.
- in 1278 Ardeshir rebuilt that and also put another summerhouse on previous one.
- But because Ardashir was Zoroastrian, Seyed Ali Faal Asiri ruined the monument.
- The ruined monument rebuilt again and Malek Mansour built a metal summerhouse on the tomb.
- In 1311 SH Farajollah Bahrami made some fundamental changes on tomb, garden and walls around.
- The current shape stems from Mozaffarian era.
- At the behest of Reza Pahlavi in 1316 SH they maintained four columns. according to Andre’ Godard‘s design they rebuilt that again.
Current Architecture
The current shape of the roof looks like a copper hat which has been put on 10-meter-high columns. The ceiling is decorated with Moarraq tiling and Rasmibandi design.
