Architectural Plan

Traditional houses in humid and moderate climate have roofs with incline because of the high humidity and high amount of rainfall during the year. This region which is locates on southern shoreline of Caspian Sea is the most verdurous climate in Iran and in all seasons has humidity. The difference of air temperature between day and night is low and allover of this region has been covered with plant.

Humidity caused a nice two-sided breeze and traditional houses took advantage of that with special architectural plan. Unlike traditional houses in hot and dry climate which had central yard, in this climate they made balconies around the house overlook to their own yard.

Buildings were stablished on base and had long shape. Because of suitable wind from the sea the house were built in eastern to western direction. Windows and doors were made with high height, and they used light structure and wood to establish the houses.
