One of the scarce historic monuments that shakes, despite the fact that its strength has been proved is Shaking minarets in Isfahan. Skilled architects, artists and tilers made this historic landmark and decorated it with polygonal star-shaped turquoise tiles.

History

According to existed evidence, in addition to Dome of Soltaniyeh in Zanjan, here is another place made in Soltan Mohammad Khodabandeh era. This place is tomb of Amoo Abdollah Karladani and this is why here is also called Sheikh Amir Abdollah holy shrine. On the tomb stone digits of 716 have been engraved that indicate the landmark made in 716 AH which was in the age of Illkhanate.

Shaking minarets of Isfahan contents three parts:

  • Minarets
  • Porch
  • Chelekaneh

Minarets as main part of this place are 19 meters high and 9 meters wide. The view of their body made from polygonal tiles. Actually, the exciting point is in this part. This is when one of the minarets shakes or is shaken by a force, another one started shaking without any force.

The porch of Shaking minarets is the place where Sheikh Amir Abdollah has been buried. The ceiling in this porch is 10 meters high and is made from brick. There is a spiral stair to get access to the roof.

Chelekhaneh is a cozy room where mystics and wise persons stayed there alone for forty days to be in abstinence because of their belief or religion. Sheikh Amir Abdollah used to be one the gnostic persons who did that during his life.
