This magnificent palace which dates back to Safavid Dynasty had been completed in several steps. Now in this essay we want to take part in this topic and tell you some points about steps of construction in brief.
Initial form of the palace
- The initial shape of this building used to be a two-floor palace.
- The dimension is 20 x 19 meters and the height used to be 13 meters.
- There was no window in used 6.5 meters height in exterior walls.
Second step of development
- The initial form of arcades which are observable on exterior view of second floor were added.
- The ceiling of that arcades created in this step.
- Third, forth and and fifth floors were added to the palace in this step.
- The great porch was added to the palace which overlooks the field. The field is located in the middle of Naqsh-e Jahan complex.
- They played Polo in that field and sometimes troops were gathered there and marched around that extensive area.
- Kings and governors watched the Polo matches or army marches from the porch.
- The entrance had changed into a ceremonial entrance from an ordinary one.
Third step of development
- A fantastic music hall created in this step of development.
- This room is different from other floors and rooms in terms of architecture, structure and wall decorations.
Forth step of development
- The width of the palace was increased, and it was widened by architects in order to upgrade the utilization.
Final step
- The wooden columns created on the porch.
- Staircase for kings were built to make way to the porch of the palace in third floor.
- Water supply system in order to convey water to the copper pool in the middle of the porch was built in the final step.
- At this step the building had been completed and satisfied all needs for kings and goverors.
